El Dorado Nature Center

This was the second project for my illustration class. We all wen down to the El Dorado Nature center down in Long Beach Ca to take photographs and do sketches of the park. We all had a good time there all though time went by really quickly for us. It was really fun to have a large sketch jam session like that in the area. Because it was fall though we saw a lot of trees with out any leaves which was a shame in some areas because of with leaves some areas would have looked very lovely.

The project was that we had to create a poster illustration that could be used to promote the park. I decided to try and go with something that was a little more emotional than representational, so I tried to keep most of this project soft and with a limited color range of Violets, Yellows, and Greens.

Our next project is that we are to create a either Sci-Fi or Fantasy book cover illustration. I already have two books in mind which will be either Alice in Wonderland or Asimov's Robots of Dawn.
