Well I needed a break from painting my final project for my Independent art study class, I think I have been working on it to long, but also I really needed to use some new rendering techniques and using Adonis's brushes that he handed out to everyone.
Wolverine has to be one of my favorite X-men characters as he is the most developed IMPO
I think I made some progress in my skill with this piece plus I had a lot of fun doing it, hope you all like it.
I have not yet seen the movie but I might get around to it.
Wacom Intous 3 + PS CS4 A little under 8 hours of work.
I really like the light on his face, the steam in the background and the way you drew his mouth. Maybe you could try to add a shadow on his skin below the dogtag and to add some more contrast with real black and white to the claws to make them look more shiny. Apart from that, great work!
Nice coloring render. Though I really get this nagging feeling that his face is kinda distorted. too wide maybe on the forehead. The eyes, nose, and mouth are too close to each other that it makes the forehead look too wide. And his mouth could be a little more "angrier".
This one is amazing. But I have the feeling that you used too small brushes on the body, which makes it looks a bit strange. And the hair, he's got some kind of "W" hairstyle right? But I actually like the blue reflection and the face is quite good too
One last thing I almost forgot to mention, the drops on his face looks a little unrealistic, I mean, it does look realistic, but it doesn't look like it's on his face, maybe you could add some shadow on the face from the drops? Not a dark one, but a little invisible.
I didn't read those comments above, so sorry if I said something someone else mentioned.
the expression line above the eyebrows looks strange, like a scar, looks too deep on the left eye. the lighting effects are amazing, though i think you could work a little more on details. usually when i'm painting i get tired and focus on one point, the details on the face are so well done that it's easier to notice the less detailed parts (like the claws) hope to be helpful (:
